The next book that I will blog is Geek Heresy by Kentaro Toyama, formerly of Microsoft Research and now at University of Michigan. It describes his disenchantment with boosterism for technology as the solution to all social ills, especially technology-enhanced schools. The book's attractions for me are obvious. The biggest danger is that it's a book that will probably tell me what I want to hear, written in an attention-getting short format with a lot of anecdotes.
